A picture is worth a thousand words - that's why the right photos are crucial for the success of your holiday home. It is important to us that your holiday home is displayed legally and optimally on our platforms and partner websites. We have therefore defined the following community guidelines for the use of photos in our owner area and ask you to note them when creating your property presentation.
This is how it's done
✔️ Only upload your photos in JPG or PNG format.
✔️ All photos should be in good quality and have a width of at least 2,000 pixels. Very important: The better your photos, the more convincing the presentation of your holiday home! We recommend that you invest in a professional photo shoot.
✔️ Upload a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 50 photos. To be ideally ranked on most websites in our distribution network, we recommend a minimum of 15 very good resolution photos in landscape format.
✔️ The photos must show your holiday home. Photos of the surrounding area or places of interest can also be used - if they were taken by you - but should only be placed at the end as an addition.
✔️ The start picture should always show your holiday home. For holiday homes, we recommend an exterior view that shows the holiday home as a whole.
✔️ If you wish to use images that you have not taken yourself, you must have a licence for the commercial use of the images. You must be able to present this licence to us at any time on request.
✔️ If people can be seen in the pictures, you must have the written consent of all those depicted and be able to present this to us on request.

You must always adhere to the following rules when using our owner area. In the event of a violation, we reserve the right to remove the photos in question without comment and/or to deactivate your holiday home, which we naturally want to avoid.
🚫 Under no circumstances should you use pictures of babies, children or teenagers to present your holiday home via our network, even if you have permission to do so or if the children in question are your own - pictures showing minors are strictly prohibited.
🚫 Do not use any images from third-party sources, e.g. photos that you have downloaded from the internet. Such photos may be protected by copyright, in which case their use constitutes a criminal offence.
❗ Please note: In the event of unlawful use of images, we will unfortunately have to charge you for any legal fees incurred by the opposing party and, if applicable, for our own legal fees. The same applies to claims for damages to be paid to the owners of the corresponding image rights.
🚫 Do not use any images from image databases such as Shutterstock, iStock, Adobe Stock or Pixabay - even if you have a licence to do so.
🚫 Do not use any text, logos or similar on the images, especially if they are registered trademarks or the logos of other holiday home providers, tour operators or similar.
🚫 Do not use any graphics, only photos. The only exception is an optional floor plan of your holiday home.
🚫 Your photos must not be too heavily edited. Choose natural colours and natural light.
🚫 The photos must not contain any contact details, personal information or other references to a direct booking option.
🚫 Do not use photos with reviews from guest books.
🚫 It is best not to use photo collages, frames or similar.

If you follow the guidelines mentioned here, your property presentation will be optimally rounded off by the photos and your holiday home will be ranked accordingly.
